FLINT CREEK AND PEACE CREEK WATERWAY DEBRIS REMOVAL PROJECT SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT (SWFWMD)

JWTC served as the prime contractor for 49 miles of Hurricane Milton/Helene debris‑removal operations across Hillsborough and Polk Counties under the Southwest Florida Water Management District. The project’s objective is to restore unobstructed water flow in storm‐impacted waterways, reduce upstream pooling, and mitigate recurring flood risks in affected communities. Work is performed in narrow canal corridors, flood‐prone drainage systems, and environmentally sensitive areas, requiring specialized access methods, meticulous sequencing, and full regulatory compliance.

Operations include the mechanical removal of vegetative, floating, and lodged debris—as well as other storm‑generated obstructions—from channels, creek systems, and drainage conveyances. JWTC deploys amphibious excavators, grapple barges, airboats, and shallow‐draft support vessels to re‐establish full channel functionality. All work follows SWFWMD specifications, environmental guidelines, and safety standards, with continuous coordination between field leadership, District engineering staff, and environmental compliance teams. JWTC manages production planning, landowner coordination, linear‐foot reconciliation, and daily documentation to ensure accurate progress measurement and successful delivery of project requirements.
